We recommend everyone who uses Slack to use Slack for personal notifications. That way, you can react to new feedback or support requests faster and on mobile.
For email, you can get additional reminders to clear your inbox, publish new projects on your roadmap, or get a daily summary of new upvotes.
When you reply to a live chat thread, Productlane waits 5 minutes and then checks whether the customer has seen your message in the widget. If they have not read it within those 5 minutes, Productlane emails them your reply along with the conversation history for context. If they have already seen it in the widget, no email is sent.
This keeps customers in the loop when they have left your site, while staying quiet when they are still reading in the widget. The 5-minute delay applies per reply, so a customer who reads your message in time receives nothing, and one who steps away gets a single catch-up email.
When customers request or upvote a feature on your feedback portal, they are not notified automatically as it moves to in progress or completed. Instead, their feedback moves to a Close loop status in Productlane, so you can tell each customer personally when something ships and they stay free of automated spam. We are working to automate more of this, so leave an upvote here if it would save you time.
